Regular contact and forming a good understanding with the fleet will be vital for the fleet manager as [the person] will be co-ordinating the vessels movements (based on fishing), logistical requirements, necessary repairs, crew changes and fish sale opportunities. This means that the candidate is going to require a thorough working knowledge of the principal key areas of all the company's vessels including: various freezing techniques, electronic navigation, communication and fish finding equipment, nets (net repairs) as well as keeping an inventory of the vessels spare parts either afloat or ashore on a cost-effective basis.
